Admission Process

1.  Use the fillable application form or download the application, print, and complete on paper.

2.  Submit any application documents in person, via email to admissions@thestmaryparish.org, or upload via the Application Document Submission box below.

3.  Once accepted, you will receive a link to complete the online enrollment via FACTS Family Portal.

4.  Pay the registration fee, or discuss deferment of payment with the admissions team.

5.  Congrats and welcome to the St. Mary Family!

What are the Pre-Kindergarten Admission Requirements?

  • The child will turn 3 or 4, respectively, by August 31st of the current entry year.

Do we have to be Catholic?

At St. Mary Catholic School, we are proud of our rich Catholic tradition, but we welcome families from all backgrounds and faiths with open arms. You do not need to be Catholic to become a part of our vibrant school community. We believe in the value of diversity and inclusivity, and our commitment to providing an excellent education extends to all students, regardless of their religious affiliation. St. Mary School will not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, religion, national or ethnic origins.

How do we apply to St. Mary Catholic School?

Applications are completed through the FACTS Family Portal.  Documents can be uploaded into the portal or submitted via email or in person.  Paper applications can be completed if needed; however enrollment after acceptance will be done via FACTS.  If assistance is needed, the admissions team is happy to help.

How do I create a FACTS Family Portal Login?

  • Please go to www.factsmgt.com.
  • Select Family Login from the menu bar and FACTS Family Portal Login from the drop-down menu.
  • Enter the school district code, SM-NC.
  • After the Facts Family Portal Login screen opens, please select Create New Family Portal Account.
  • Enter in the Email field your email address as provided in your application to the school.
  • Click the Create Account button.
  • You will receive an email from FACTS Customer Support containing a link that will allow you to create your username and password. For security purposes the link will remain active for 6 hours.
  • Please click on the link. A Change/Create Password screen will open. You may use the default username provided, or create a new username. Then type in your desired password into the Password field and Confirm Field.
  • Click on the Save Username and/or Password button.

What happens after eighth grade?

After eighth grade at St. Mary Catholic School, our students embark on an exciting journey towards high school and beyond, equipped with a strong foundation in academics, character development, and faith. They enter high school well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities ahead, with a solid academic background and critical thinking skills that will serve them throughout their educational pursuits. Many of our students move on to the local high school honors programs.

What is the NC Opportunity Scholarship?

The NC Opportunity Scholarship is a need-based scholarship available to all private school K - 12 students.  The average award will be $3,000 - 7,000 for the 2024-2025 school year. The Opportunity Scholarship application for the 2024-2025 school year will open on February 1, 2024. Families must apply by March 1 to receive priority consideration. More information about the application process will be available on the program website in January.  St. Mary encourages any family to apply.

How do I apply for financial aid?

Financial aid applications, excepting the NC Opportunity Scholarship Program, are processed through the FACTS Management Portal.  See the Tuition Assistance page for further information about opportunities.

What happens after I apply for financial aid?

The application will be forwarded to a review panel after it is verified by the FACTS system.

What payment options are available?

You may choose from multiple payment options, including quarterly, 10-month, and 12-month via the FACTS Management Portal.

The FACTS Family Portal opens for priority enrollment begins for existing students. 

November 12, 2023

Priority enrollment period closes.

November 12 - 18, 2023

Discover Catholic Schools week featuring open house and registration assistance for prospective families.

November - January

Applications for new students can be submitted online or on paper to the admissions office for review.

February 1 - 28, 2024

Opportunity Scholarship portal open for applications.  Awards will be given based on financial need, with the average award being $3000-$7000.  All families are eligible to apply.

March 20, 2024

Enrollment deadline for the 2024-2025 year.
